L.D. Austin Company was started by owner, L.D. Austin, over 20 years ago. As a builder, Mr. Austin is known for his quality construction and innovative ideas. He has been named "Home Builder of the Year" by the Hickory-Catawba Valley Home Builder's Association and served as President of the Home Builder's Association and national representative. Priding himself in building not only homes, but quality and unique neighborhoods, patio homes and townhome communities as well as upscale rental communities. He is the one builder and developer that stands out in the area. Currently L.D. Austin Company is involved in several joint ventures with local builders, George Henson and Dan Grogan in developing and marketing neighborhoods, while Henson and Grogan oversee the actual building, L.D. Austin Company handles the development, design and marketing.
